How to Use and Precautions for Silicone Sealant?

Home decoration is a troublesome thing. Home decoration not only pays attention to the overall aspect but also pays attention to some small details. Some adhesives will be used in home decoration, among which silicone sealant is the most commonly used. Spray silicone sealant can not only be used to stick glass but also to stick wooden or carbon steel items.

The use of silicone sealant

  • Remove the surface moisture, grease, dust, and other contaminants of the joint. If necessary, clean the surface with solvents such as dichlorobenzene or acetone, and then wipe away all residues with a clean cloth to ensure thorough cleaning and drying.

  • Stick plastic around the socket surface. Ensure that the sealing work line is perfectly neat.

  • Cut open the nozzle of the hose, install the nozzle tube, and then cut it into a 45-degree angle according to the mortar specifications.

  • Install the glue gun, and press out the adhesive material along the gap at a 45-degree angle, ensuring tight contact between the adhesive material and the substrate surface. When the length of the joint is less than 15mm, it needs to be applied repeatedly. After coating, use a knife to trim the surface, remove excess glue, and then tear off the glue. If there are oil stains, wipe them off with a handkerchief.

  • The sealant surface will vulcanize after 10 minutes at high temperatures, and complete vulcanization requires 24 hours or longer, depending on the length of the coating and the temperature and humidity of the environment.

Precautions for using silicone sealant

  • Use in well-ventilated places. After use, be sure to open the door and keep ventilation to prevent harmful carbon dioxide from quickly spilling out.

  • Avoid contact with skin and prevent glass adhesive from entering the nose. As one of the professional spray paint manufacturers, we suggest that use a protective mask to prevent the glass adhesive from entering the eyes.

  • Wear a mask when using. Wearing a mask during construction can prevent harmful carbon dioxide from being inhaled into the body.

  • Keep out of reach of children. After use, pay attention to sealing and keep out of reach of children.
